It is the time of the year again! Chinese New Year 2023 is just around the corner and are you planning where to celebrate this year? Time to check out Sunway Putra Mall. Sunway Putra Mall welcomes visitors to the year of the rabbit with the theme “Blooming Happiness” from 5th January – 5 th February 2023 at the Main Concourse, Ground Floor.

In conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year, Sunway Putra Mall has prepared to  celebrate one of the biggest festivities in Malaysia. Combining the elements of spring, ‘Blooming Happiness’ means double the happiness that is closely related to this year’s zodiac; the rabbit’s characteristics of spreading love and happiness.

Among the things that will attract the attention of visitors are definitely the Spring Forest themed decorations featuring enormous decorative trees and flowers and cute floral Blossom Rabbits.

Visitors also have the opportunity to see the delightful lantern arrangement which is symbolic  for Chinese New Year celebration. There are plenty of Instagram-able decorations to take your CNY photos too.

We recently visited Sunway Putra Mall and the boys loved the decorations. On top of that there are workshops that they can attend too!

Apart from that, weekend will be packed with activities and performances that will take place on every weekend from 7 January – 5 February 2023. Among them are the 24 Grand Season Drums, Dragon Dance, Rabbit Mascot Walkabout, Traditional Chinese Fan Dance, Silk Dance, Lantern Dance, Chinese Diabolo, AR wishing pond, and many more.

In addition, get Chinese New Year essentials at the Festive Bazaar at Main Concourse, Ground Floor throughout the holiday season, a variety of products including fashion apparel, accessories, cookies, hampers, and more. Check out the delicious Chinese New Year delicacies that are offered at F&B like Go Noodle, Dolly Dim Sum, Simple Life, and others. Enjoy amazing deals on fashion, home decorations, lifestyle, technology, and more offered throughout Sunway Putra Mall.

There will be a lantern painting competition and our shoppers are invited to highlight their creative talents in the Lantern Painting Competition which offers prizes of more than RM1,800. 100 lanterns will also be displayed in the Concourse area as well.

Visitors can also try the Fortune Hopping virtual game which offers cash voucher prizes for the highest scores. This Rabbit zodiac-themed virtual game requires the player to play to get coins and gold turtles. To try this game, visitors have to come to Sunway Putra Mall to scan the QR code provided at Fortune and Blessing Pond. Visitors with the 10 highest scores will win a RM50 cash voucher each.

My boys love to play this virtual game as it is fun and exciting. You need to have fast reaction to get more points for the highest score.
