This is the true hidden gem of Ecohill Semenyih, the Hometown Seafood Restaurant. There are many Facebook Pages recommendations of Semenyih and most of them are advertisements. We went to this Hometown Seafood Restaurant Ecohill Semenyih by chance and it is better than we expected.
This is a typical Chinese restaurant, fully air conditioned, nothing fancy about the interior and it is facing the Setia Ecohill Mall. This means finding parking could be challenging so you might need to park further and walk a bit.
We ordered most of their signature dishes and they are Marmite Pork Ribs, Dried Butter Mantis Prawn, Stir Fried Potato Leaves and Butter Crabs with Fried Mantao.
Marmite Pork Ribs are tasty, full of flavour and the kids loved it. What we love about their pork ribs is the tenderness of the meat as well as the flavorful sweet sauce. This complements well with the rice.
Dried butter mantis prawn is their signature dish. We ordered the dry butter mantis prawn and the ‘wet’ butter crabs.
The mantis prawn is deep fried to crispiness on the outer layer and it is still tender on the inside. We love generous amount of the butter egg floss and the kids loved this too.
Stir Fried Potato Leaves with Garlic
Butter Crabs is their signature dish and the taste is as good as it looks. We ordered the crabs as they had some promotion and this is no regrets.
The crabs were fresh and the butter sauce is savoury and addictive. The sauce complements well with the crabs as well as the fried mantao. This is a memorable dish and we don’t mind driving all the way to Ecohill Semenyih for this.
