Shake Shack TRX Exchange Malaysia Honest Review

Firstly, thank you Shake Shack Malaysia for the special invite / media invite before the opening of the store on 10 April 2024. I was at Shake Shack TRX Exchange yesterday as they opened for ‘training’ and media reviews. Now, time for Shake Shack TRX Exchange honest review.

I have been to many media previews / pre opening reviews and this is probably the best pre opening reviews ever. There was no drama, everyone got their food and happy at the end of the day. Same goes to the guests invited for their training session, everyone left with smiley faces.

I tried most of their food in their menu and this is what they offer:

ShackBurger – Cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, Shacksauce

SmokeShack – Cheeseburger with cherry peppers, Applewood-smoked streaky beef bacon, Shacksauce

Shroom Burger – Crispy-fried Portobello mushroom filled with melted Monterey Jac, Tilsiter and Colby Cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato, Shacksauce

Chicken Shack – Crispy chicken breast / thigh topped with lettuce, pickles, buttermilk herb mayo

Cheese Sausage – Beef sausage with cheese sauce

Cheese Fries

Bunga Raya Shake – Hibiscus jelly topped with vanilla frozen custard blended with dragon fruit and gula Melaka, topped with whipped cream, coconut crumble, gula Melaka drizzle

Strawberry Lemonade

Fresh Lemonade

Sparkling Lemonade – Passionfruit, Raspberry

Fifty/ Fifty – Half lemonade, half organic iced tea

TRXopical Park – Vanilla frozen custard blended with Rompin pineapple, dragonfruit, shortbread cookies, topped with plum powder

Hey Macamadia! – Vanilla frozen custard blended with cheesecake, macadamia nuts, and caramel sauce

That was a lot of food we (including Rachel and kids) tasted. I won’t be reviewing each and every single dish but I will give an overall taste review.

Here is my verdict for the burgers and my preferences.

ShackBurger is their signature cheese burger. I love the beef patty, not too greasy and not too lean, it is just right. The ingredients are generous and you will ask for more.

ShroomBurger is their vegetarian burger but I loved this. The thick crispy fried Portobello mushroom filled with melted Monterey Jac, Tilsiter and Colby Cheeses, topped with lettuce, tomato, Shacksauce is a great combination. I am not a fan of vege but I really like this burger.

Chicken Shack is their chicken burger. Crispy outer layer juicy chicken meat with buttermilk herb mayo. The chicken patty is tender, flavourful and this is lovely.

SmokeShack is their cheeseburger with cherry peppers, Applewood-smoked streaky beef bacon, Shacksauce. Since I tasted the Smokeshack in Singapore, I am being bias here. I prefer the real pork bacon as the streaky beef bacon texture is tougher. This is also a spicy burger and in terms of flavor, this is flavourful.

Bunga Raya Shake is Malaysia’s exclusive. This is Hibiscus jelly topped with vanilla frozen custard blended with dragon fruit and gula Melaka, topped with whipped cream, coconut crumble, gula Melaka drizzle. This is a crazy combination that works perfectly.

I love this at first sip. The different texture and layers of flavours will definitely makes you ask for more! The other thing you should know about Bunga Raya Shake is it is pretty filling and this is good for sharing.

TRXopical Park – Vanilla frozen custard blended with Rompin pineapple, dragonfruit, shortbread cookies, topped with plum powder. When I noticed my boys savouring this like no tomorrow, I know this is good.

Hey Macamadia! – Vanilla frozen custard blended with cheesecake, macadamia nuts, and caramel sauce. I fell in love with this and honestly, I will come back for this. I am a sucker for dessert and this is so good.

Overall, I am impressed with the food at Shake Shack TRX Exchange Malaysia. However, do take note the food are prepared for media review so they might put a little more effort for it. However, as usual everyone’s taste palette is different and this is my honest review based on the food I had at Shake Shack TRX Exchange Malaysia. Remember, Shake Shack TRX Exchange opens at 10^th April 2024.
