MyBorderPass for QR Code System at KLIA
MyBorderPass for QR Code System at KLIA
Some travel tips for Malaysians traveling abroad. Now, you can download the MyBorderPass application to register your travel details, before utilising the quick response (QR) code system at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), according to the Immigration Department.
Since I am traveling soon, I am excited to do a proper review for the MyBorderPass for QR Code System at KLIA. For now, you need to download the MyBorderPass application to register.
Once you have downloaded, you have to update your details and scan your passport front page. It took me a while to scan the passport as I believe you should scan the bar code instead of the front page (correct me if I’m wrong).
You also have to verify yourself by taking a live selfie photo using the app and then the verification is complete.
Lastly, you need to create a pin to get the QR code for you to scan at the arrival and departure halls of KLIA T1 and T2.
The use of QR code at the arrival and departure halls of T1 and T2 is a solution to the congestion issue, which often occurs at the country’s entry points, especially during peak hours and festive seasons as claimed.
Among the advantages of using QR code is that the immigration clearance period only takes a short time, between five and seven seconds, compared with 15 to 25 seconds using conventional automatic gates.
The department also assured that the implementation of the autogate facility using the QR code system at KLIA will not affect security, especially regarding the clearance of foreigners into the country.
I will be testing and using the MyBorderPass for QR Code System at KLIA this week and I will let you know if it works as it claims. I have downloaded and registered MyBorderPass for QR Code System at KLIA, have you if you are traveling soon?
