Orkid Ria Seafood Restaurant Pantai Cenang Langkawi
This was a surprise family trip to Langkawi during school holiday. While many felt that there are better destinations than Langkawi, we truly enjoyed our trip. During our stay at Pantai Cenang, we wanted to check out some of the seafood restaurant. As recommended by a friend, we went to Orkid Ria Seafood Restaurant at Pantai Timur, next to Pantai Cenang Langkawi.
From the outside, Orkid Ria Seafood Restaurant Pantai Cenang Langkawi looks like high class restaurant. It looks so fancy with its parking bay and live seafood selections.
Then I checked the menu, the food prices are reasonable. Similar and probably cheaper than some seafood restaurant in Kuala Lumpur.
We sat down, took our order and I took some photos and videos for my blog and socials. Then, I noticed someone very familiar. It is Tun Dr Mahathir and I discussed with my wife whether we should greet him and take a photo together.
Tun Dr Mahathir looks healthy and as we approached his table, a few of the bodyguards start to walk over to us. We greeted Tun Dr. Mahathir and had a little chat with him.
We bumped to Tun Dr. Mahahir in Langkawi 15 years ago in his bakery back then, The Loaf. We showed him the photo and he smiled.
With his permission, we took another photo this time with him and Tun Siti Hasmah. We wished them to be pink of health. Strangely, no one near us noticed them until they left which causes a big commotion as everyone in the restaurant wanted to greet and take photo with them.
Now, back to the food we ordered at Orkid Ria Seafood Restaurant Pantai Cenang Langkawi.
We had Signature Butter Prawn that comes with crispy egg floss. The prawns are fresh and deep fried to perfection!
The Tomyam Prawn comes with great flavor with fresh prawns. Tomyam taste is just right, not too spicy.
Fried Rice Seafood comes with wok hei with hints of fish sauce.
The Lemon Chicken comes with crispy skin, tender meat with great flavor. Kids loved this as usual as it complements well with rice.
The food here is good, prices are reasonable. The total bill comes to RM 150 including fresh coconut x2, rice and ice lemon tea which is very reasonable. The food prices here is not as crazy and scary as I read online months ago.
Orkid Ria Seafood Restaurant is a great place for seafood if you are staying in Pantai Cenang Langkawi. If you want great environment with simple food, come to Orkid Ria Seafood Restaurant Pantai Cenang Langkawi.
